Marissa's Style

Marissa is into wearing Leotards and dressing up.  She changes at least 4-5 times a day and it drives me crazy....(I know mom....don't comment)!  even her clothes, she is so picky about what she wears and how she wears it!  The child drives me crazy.  Here is a picture of here on blake's Birthday with his friends in her Leotard and somekind of witch hat!    The other day she was dressed as a kitty with kitten ears and her kitten tail tucked into the back of her pants hanging out.  U know how embarrassing it is going to the store with a child like that?!  Oh well, pick your battles I guess.
This girl....she is eating so much better, but is picky about her clothes and everything else and how things are done.....her and I butt heads all the time!!  Tony and her.....get a long great!!!  Oh well, it's all part of growing up and her learning her way's I guess!

I have an 8 yr old!

My oldest son turned 8!  His birthday was on the 22nd. He was born the day after his grandpa! He was born 1 week after my brother left for his mission.  He is the oldest grandchild on my side of the family!  I remember the day he was born. I was only 36 1/w weeks pregnant and I went in for my appt. that day and they checked me and I was dilated to a 4 and they hooked me up to the monitors and there was movement and I was having contractions, so the Dr. sent me up to the Hospital (McKay Dee), and I got all changed and hooked up to the monitors. I remember after they gave me the epidural, I was vomiting and than I became really weak so they hooked me up to oxygen.  My sister and mom were there with me.  My other sister n law was there also and I think I scared her too much for having a baby.  Well the time came and Blake came.  He was 6# 9oz and 19 1/2 inches long. He was cute and had lots of hair! He was precious and I loved him.  We had his name picked out for months.  He was transferred to the ICU for about 12-24 hrs, because he did turn blue as I was breastfeeding him for the first time, but also because I had my strep B test done earlier that day and the results had not come back yet, so they started him on antibiotics just to make sure it wasn't positive.  Luckily we were all good!!
We are so glad to have Blake in our family!  He is a good brother and loves to tease his sisters!!  He is very obedient and loved to do what is right!  He has good friends.  he is good at Baseball and loves to swim.  He loves to ride his bike, roller blade and ride his skateboard and such!  He also loves to go Hunting and fishing and any outdoors act.  We love you Blake and are glad you are in our family and  you are my first born!
For his birthday,  he invited some friends over and Tony took them to the batting Cages over at Swan Lakes and they took turns Batting!  They loved it and had a fun time!  I did not go, since....it was a boys only party and it was too much for me!!!

 Blake and all his friends!
Thanks to an awesome aunt of Blake's for making his Birthday Cake for his Family Party!  She decorated it as a Baseball!!  It was awesome!

Blake loves the Utes!  From Tony and I, I redid his Dresser and Nightstand and sanded it and spray painted it red!  It turned out great! We also to him some wall decor and and new bread spread and a Ute Pillow!  He loves it!
Blake and his cousins that attended his Family birthday Party!  Thanks everyone for coming! We had a fun time with you and we appreciate all that you do for us!!

Lamb Day July 21, 2012

Well, It has come and gone once again!  We had our Annual Lamb Day in Fountain Green.  There wasn't a ton of people this year, but it was still fun and our kids had fun with their cousins.  The weather was nice. Not too hot.  It was breezy and a little overcast, which made it for a nice day!  We woke up bright and early and left out on the road by 6:30 so we could make it for breakfast by 8:00 (really 9:00 we were eating)!  We than went to their Parade and than had a Potluck lunch!  We left by 2:00, it was good timing because it started in a down pour!!!  All in all, it was good to see family that we don't get too see very often and it was nice to sit and chat and just relax!!!

4th of July 2012

The 4th of July has come and gone once again!  I can't believe how fast this year has gone by so far! The year is 1/2 over and soon it will be Christmas!  How crazy is that to start thinking of Christmas!  This summer has been filled with lots of fun outings so far, and more to come!
For the 4th of July, we pretty much do the same thing every year!  We go to the Kaysville Parade (which started at 11:00, not 10:00!!!), than we go to my grandma's house and have a big green Shin Dig..with all my cousins and their kids!  It was fun to see everyone at the parade and at grandma's!  My cousin Jamie brought up her water slide and let the kids all use it! They all had a blast! (Thanks jame).  We later went to Tony's parents house where we had a water fight (I didn't get pictures of it), and we ate and than went to the fireworks at DHS and played on the grass before hand!  We ate lots of good food and had a fun time with everyone.  The parade was fun.....but Super Hot!! Finally it came to an end!  We took a picture of all of MY cousins sitting on the curb right after the parade! It's a tradition that we have done!  It's a fun picture!! The 4th of July is probably one of my most favorite traditions.  We have gone to the parade ever since I was little and I have also been in the Parade.  The Kaysville Parade has gotten bigger every year and there are tons of people that come and support it!  Afterwards they have a huge water fight on main street with water guns and hoses!  It is a blast!  We have participated  in the past with Water Balloons and launchers, but now we try to avoid the water!  (it's really fun, though).  One of these years I am going to make my family stay and participate again!!  The Kaysville Fireworks were spectacular with year! The Finally was awesome! The girls fell asleep,...they were so tired. It is a fun Holiday that I remember as a kid growing  up and I want my kids to remember as they grow up!
Thanks everyone for making the 4th of July so much fun for us!  We love doing things with they family and having family party's! It's nice to have family close by and to be involved and see everyone every once in a while!!!!  Good seeing you alll! Hope everyone has a good rest of their Summer!!

Uinta's!

This last weekend, my parents had off of work and they wanted to go somewhere, but not too far.  I suggested the Uinta's because my dad and Tony needed to put up their trail cam's anyway. My parents headed up with the trailer on Thursday and Tony and I with the kids headed up Friday at about 10:00 AM.  We had a fun weekend of hiking around, lots and lots of 4-wheeler rides....one of which I went with my mamma and i got a little sun on me!!  Eating and enjoying one another's company.  Also watching my dad fish for a little bit.  It's always nice to get away from the everyday life and enjoy the out doors and nature what Heavenly Father has given us!  This time of year....there were a lot of fly's and bee's....which were annoying. We usually go up when it is later in the year, when it is colder, but it was nice to have it warm and not super cold like in the past!!!
Thanks mom and dad for a fun weekend and thanks for letting us sleep in your trailer!

Pine View!

Sorry there are no pictures for this post....my camera was dead and I forgot to take it with me!
A couple of weekends ago, we went up to North Fork with our neighbors and good friends here in Layton.  it was fun sleeping in a tent and having s'mores and going boating......it was a fun weekend.  My neighbors brother brought up his boat and he took us all out on the boat.  Tony wake boarded. Blake rode on a tube by himself.  Marissa and I went out on the tube together and I rode on the tube myself.  (first time I have ever done that)!  We had a blast playing in the water and just talking!  Thanks neighbors for inviting us!
I am so glad we are friends with them.  They are wonderful neighbors and we love hanging out with them!

Marissa Kindergarten Program!

Marissa has enjoyed Kindergarten this last year.  Despite of the 3 Kindergarten Teachers that she had.....has has done a terrific job at transitioning and she did very well this year.  She says her favorite teacher was Mrs. Nielsen. (At Layton Elem.).
At the First of the year, we started out in Morning Kinder. with Mrs. Bitner.  She is a great Teacher.  The kids in the neighborhood had her as well and were in her same class, so it was easy to do carpool and she had a fun first couple of months there.  By the end of September, we had moved to my parents house in F.H. and that is where I switched my kids schools to Sam Morgan Elem.  Blake and Marissa transitioned very well and they had a good couple of months there.  There, Marissa had.....Mrs. Moore.  She was a terrific teacher and we enjoyed her. We were sad to leave when we bought our home in Layton.  For the remainder of the year...probably where they attended most of the year, Marissa had Mrs. Nielsen.  She has been wonderful for Marissa and she has made good friends and had thoroughly enjoyed school.  She reads well and is super creative and loves to color and draw.  marissa is very outgoing and likes to try new adventures. I hope that we can have a Terrific year for 2012-2013 and that we have good teachers!!
