Hand, Foot and Mouth Virus...

SO I have never seen anyone with hand, Foot and Mouth.  I always had moms call and explain the symptoms to me, but never had seen it!!   Well we saw it in our home this last week.  Jaci first started getting symptoms Thursday Night. She ran a High Fever and her heart was racing.  (It kinda freaked me out for a min)!  I had to call my parents in the middle of the night.  thank goodness they are awake till 2:00 AM every night and that they were home and not working.  The next day she still ran a fever.  By Saturday, her Fever was gone but she started showing red bumps on her wrists and the bottom of her feet.  That is when I knew it was the Virus.  She also had red bumps on the roof of her mouth and she didn't really eat anything for 2 day's.  We kept her home from Church just so that we wouldn't share it around Primary!  By Sunday Night, Blake was telling me that his head hurt and his throat hurt.  Monday came and his throat still hurt.  I took him in and swabbed this throat.....strep came out neg.  I then realized.....It could be the dame thing Jaci has.  I looked in in Mouth and sure enough.....red spots on the roof of his mouth and by that night he was getting red bumps on his legs, and hands.  Than Marissa gets a fever Tuesday, no red bumps in her mouth or sores on her body.....SO Now it's Friday and we are finally all over it!  Blake's bumps are still going away, but he is great.  Marissa had now bumps, just a fever and Jaci had a fever and bumps.  I talked to my Pediatrician and he said that they have seen it much worse this year than in other years and it's not just on the Hands, feet and mouth.  It's more of a rash everywhere on the legs and arms and bum area.  I have heard that it is going around and that Older kids are getting it also.  Like the 12 and 14 yr olds.  So it must be a different kind of strain going around.  My niece did have it a couple of weeks ago in Pennsylvania, and she did have it was worse.  It's not fun, but at least there is no vomiting.  I can handle just fevers and being confined to your home!   We might as well get over it the first week of school being out for the Summer.  Now we can enjoy our summer and hopefully stay Healthy!!!
Hope everyone has a wonderful Summer!!

Blake and Baseball!

These last few months, Blake has done baseball once again.  If we stayed in Farmington, he would have done Machine Pitch, but since we moved to Layton he played another year of Coach Pitch.  He and 2 others were the only 2nd graders. The rest on his team were 1st graders and 1 kindergartner.  They actually did well.  It was fun watching them play. Blake by far was probably the best on his team.....(but I may be biased)!  Our neighbor was his coach.  They actually called us up one day and asked if we were going to sign blake up and asked if they could request Blake to be on their team!  It's actually nice to have someone ask if Blake could be on their team!  He played in all the games, except for their 2nd to last.  It was rainy that day and he was getting over Hand, Foot and Mouth Virus!!  Blake loves Playing baseball and I am so grateful for that!  I would much rather be a baseball mom than a soccer mom or a Football mom!  I loved watching my brother play, so it is fun to see Blake play and watch him advance and learn!    Way to go Blake!  We love you!!!
(sorry I don't have any pictures)!  Some are on my phone!!
